Maybe you’ve heard that yoga can bring you to a state of “zen” – peace, calm, ultimate relaxation. But did you know a beer can actually have the same effect? Some studies show that drinking a beer or two (not 10) can help reduce stress and anxiety.
When you combine beer and yoga, you’re sure to step off of your mat feeling much better than you felt at the beginning of class: mentally, physically, spiritually or all three.
Recently, Gulfshore Life Magazine featured my very first yoga class in a two-page article written by the very talented Stephanie Davis. This entertaining read gives you a very raw, real perspective on a first-time yogi’s beer yoga experience.
Plus, it provides great insight into why yoga and beer have the power to make you an even happier person.
I’m so humbled by the words written about my yoga classes in the article. It’s been a true gift to teach Yoga & Brews at Scotty’s Bierwerks every other Sunday. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my time: good beer, new friends, and of course, yoga.
Thanks to everyone who has supported this unique event since it started months back. We’ve been seeing an awesome turnout of incredible people ranging in all ages and skill levels.
From five-year-old Aria who loves butterfly pose (also known as baddha konasana or bound angle pose) to a woman who challenged herself to try yoga for the very first time even though she suffered from carpal tunnel in her wrists, Yoga & Brews continually gives me opportunities to expand my teaching style.
It’s been very rewarding to see my students step outside of their comfort zones and onto their mats – often with a beer or wine in-hand. What better way to connect with the community than through yoga and delicious beer?
But to me, this event isn’t just about an hour of yoga chased with some quality craft beer. It’s about getting creative not only in your yoga practice but also in your life. Why not try something new and out of the ordinary?
Plus, it’s a way for you to connect two of life’s most rewarding relaxation techniques and absorb all the healing benefits…
